How to get more email storage with Intrabase

If email is what is filling up your hosting, you do not need to change plan: with an Intrabase licence each user adds their own storage.

What an Intrabase licence gives you

The storage you have contracted belongs to your hosting plan, and it is shared by the website, the databases and every mailbox on the domain. As email grows, it eats it all.

Each Intrabase licence comes with its own storage, added on top of your hosting plan. In other words: you get more email storage without touching your hosting plan and without moving anything, because the mailboxes stay exactly the same.

  • Starter — 20 GB per user.
  • Pro — 50 GB per user.
  • Business — 100 GB per user.
Important: Licences are per user, and each user can have several mail accounts set up, so the storage is shared among their accounts.

1. Sign in to your mail account from Intrabase

Open workspace.intrabase.app and sign in with your domain email address and its password. There is nothing to sign up for: it is the same account you already use in webmail or in your mail program.

Once inside, the Mail app shows you the very same mailboxes, folders and messages you have on the server right now.

2. Check how much space you are using

The Intrabase dashboard has a usage statistics block showing how much space you use and how much you have contracted. It counts what belongs to the workspace: your mail (mailbox and archive) and your Drive.

Website files and databases do not appear there, even though they also take up hosting space: you will find those in the Control Panel, in the domain's section. That is why the Intrabase figure can be lower than the one in the resource limit warning email, which adds everything up.

That way you know whether email really is the problem before buying anything.

3. Add more storage

You can upgrade the account plan from the app itself. Pick the plan that suits the storage you need per user and confirm it.

What happens next:

  • The new storage is active straight away and shows up on the dashboard.
  • There is no mail to migrate and no program to reconfigure: the mailboxes do not move.
  • The resource limit warning stops being sent once your usage is back below the contracted limit.

If you would rather we did it for you, or you want a quote for several users, drop us a line and we will set it up.

What if I would rather not upgrade?

The other way to reclaim space is to take your old mail away and remove it from the server. With Intrabase you can download every message from a given year as a single file and then delete them, without losing any.
